Sad news

So I feel like I have been non stop this past month. I have orders upon orders for paintings and necklaces for Christmas. My sad news is that my grandmother, who has been suffering from Altzheimers, is in her final stages and is not expected to last much longer. She has not been eating or drinking and is pretty much in a coma. On top of all this my grandfather on my mom's side is sick and will possibly have to have gall bladder surgery within the next week. I am completely stressed and emotionally drained. Well, just wanted to get that off my chest. Please pray for my grandparents and our family. Thanks!

Glass etching

So i discovered a project which is totally gratifying and quick, glass etching. I love it. I etched a vase in 5 minutes. I think I will be going through a whole lot of glass in the weeks to come. Oh the ideas that are etching in my head.

Jewelry

Here are a few pendants I did and I am very excited about the way they came out.

I apologize for the quality of the photos. My camera has been acting up a lot lately and I can't seem to get a good picture of small objects.

Hair clips and hair clip display

Here is the hair clip display and hair clips I did that are currently for sale at Serenity Hair Salon.

A blog I absolutely LOVE

Ok, I found this blog and I absolutely LOVE it! I wish I was her. I guess I am a girl after her own heart. She is so very creative and her artwork is amazing. I have no idea how she has time to do the things she does. Here is her blog address. Check it out!

Hair Clips

So I've been busy making hair clips. I've made some with ribbon flowers and buttons and recently I've been making some with felt and thread. I am most proud of the candy corn clips that I made. Personally I think they are adorable. Too bad I don't have a little girl to adorn with hair clips. Oh, and the pictures are horrible. I'm not really sure why they came out so badly. Oh, well.

Dominic's 2nd Birthday

Dom making a wish

So my son turned 2 and we had a wonderful airplane theme party for him. We dressed him as a pilot and my husband was the co-pilot and I was the flight attendant. The invites were airline tickets and the goodie bags were barf bags. I also made some peanut and m&ms bags and each child had there own pilot pin. We had bunches of white balloons hanging from the ceiling as clouds and I made different signs to hang around the house as airport signs. We had lots of fun and I had a blast designing and making everything.

Been away for a while!

Hi all! It's been a while since i last posted anything. I stood in a wedding in June and I was busy doing the programs, favors and lots of other stuff. Then shortly after that was my sons 2nd birthday. I had to go big so he had a wonderful Airplane themed party (pictures to follow very soon).

Amidst all of that I have been bombarded by family and friends to start an invitation/painting business and I must be crazy because I will be trying to start one. I really need to get back to this blog and possibly I can use some imput from people to help me along with my business. Ok, well I have a crazy 2 year old running around so I must go, but i will be back soon!

Original artwork

This is an original piece that I did for a friend who is about to get married. Down here in Louisiana the fleur de lis is very popular. It is an acrylic done on canvas.

cloth shoes

These are some cloth baby shoes that I made using a pattern from Stardust Shoes. I found the idea from once again Homemade by Jill. This is the third pair I made. The first two were definitely trial and error. I can't wait to give them to somebody with a little girl.

my tote

This is the first project of hopefully many. I used a tutorial found on Homemade by Jill and it was very simple. Her projects are great!

I just wanted to start a blog to post my original artwork and crafts that I have been working on. I've gotten many of my craft projects from Homemade by Jill and she is absolutely amazing. Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures soon.
